as thunder roars across the heavens
and shakes me to the core
i'm moving on - through the neverending bleakness

carrying the torch - my last attempt of breaking through the fog
to no avail - as i feel that i am destined to fail

but yet i'm crawling on, in what could be blind rage,stubborness or even spite
how could i know, for this has been going on for aeons

where the old gods once sang a new world into the void
an ethereal ember, to start the fire - of life

now only charred earth, ashen trees and echoes in the dust storms remain
where once was the light, there are just clouds above the tower

the culprits and the frauds
for so long have been dethroned
but only agony will blossom out
on their legacy of ruin

traces in the dust - i follow
my destination was long lost - in sorrow
condemned to forever wander
a wrong direction and a million steps too much
a lifelong pursuit of vanity

I've come to terms with my demise
and my endeavor going wrong
My conscience is drowning out
